Ms S Divyadarshini has topped the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2010, the results of which were announced today, while the second position has gone to Ms Sweta Mohanty from Hyderabad.
Mr R V Varun Kumar of Chennai, the topper among male candidates, has secured the overall third rank.
Ms Divyadarshini has done her B.A. B.L. (Hons.) from Dr Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. This was her second attempt at the prestigious examination.
Ms Mohanty has done B.Tech. (Computer Science) from the Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Mr Varun Kumar has done Bachelor in Dental Sciences from the Ragas Dental College, Chennai. This was his third attempt in the examination.
An official press release said that, based on the results of the written part of the examination held in October-November last year and the interviews for personality test held in March-April this year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recommended 920 candidates for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Central Services, Group A and Group B.
